The call to the Tiramis\u00f9 World Cup<\/a> came from Spain, and more precisely from Barcelona, where Natural Machines has developed Foodini, a 3D food printing kitchen appliance. And to recreate the perfect Tiramisu, they asked for help from the TWC, the competition that for years has evaluated hundreds of recipes prepared by its participants and Champions of the “tastiest challenge of the year”.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It seems like science fiction, but it is already reality: it is possible to create and recreate gastronomic recipes, thanks to a three-dimensional printer specifically designed to work with food.

The dishes that are made are completely edible as they are made with fresh ingredients, and able to reproduce the flavor of the original recipe: “The purists might remain skeptical of this new technology, but this 3D food printer is a new type of kitchen appliance. It is a phenomenon we have to keep an eye on\u201d, Francesco Redi (founder and CEO of the Tiramis\u00f9 World Cup)<\/strong>, said, returning from Barcelona, where he went to see (and taste) the results of printed Tiramisu. \u201cWe are proud that our Treviso based company has been called upon to establish the criteria to recreate the best Tiramis\u00f9 using Foodini: those criteria are the same criteria that the Tiramis\u00f9 World Cup judges must follow to evaluate the desserts prepared by our competitors<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWho better than the team at the Tiramisu World Cup to help us create a classic Italian Tiramisu with a modern twist of preparation: by making it with a 3D food printer. Similar to how you use a whisk to combine sugar and egg yolks, and a mixer to beat the mascarpone, you use Foodini to create the presentation of the Tiramisu.\u201d, says Emilio Sepulveda, CEO of Natural Machines<\/strong>.
