“Creative Europe<\/a><\/span><\/span>\u201d, the EU\u00a0<\/span>Programme<\/span>\u00a0supporting the culture and audiovisual sectors, is growing\u00a0<\/span>especially\u00a0<\/span>if compared to the past. This is shown by the increase in the total budget to\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u20ac2.44 billion<\/span><\/span>\u00a0for the next seven years. For 2021 alone, more than \u20ac297 million have been allocated.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0<\/span>projects selected<\/span><\/b>\u00a0within Creative Europe aim at strengthening cultural diversity and supporting the creative and cultural sectors in overcoming challenges. \u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0<\/span>2021-2027 budgetary period<\/span><\/b>\u00a0will enable the sectors concerned to embark on a path of recovery characterised by\u00a0<\/span>greater inclusion, digitisation\u00a0<\/span><\/b>and<\/span>\u00a0environmental sustainability<\/span><\/b>. The instrument most frequently referred to is transnational cooperation, whose role is thus strengthened in the new programme.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Creative Europe is divided into three strands:\u00a0<\/span>Culture<\/span><\/i><\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>Media<\/span><\/i><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>Cross-Sectoral<\/span><\/i><\/a>. The general objectives are the<\/span>\u00a0preservation<\/span><\/b>,\u00a0<\/span>development<\/span><\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>promotion\u00a0<\/span><\/b>of<\/span>\u00a0European culture<\/span><\/b>, as well as the protection of\u00a0<\/span>linguistic diversity<\/span><\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>heritage<\/span><\/b>.\u00a0<\/span>
\nIn addition, the Programme focuses on increasing the\u00a0<\/span>competitiveness<\/span><\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>economic potential<\/span><\/b>\u00a0of the creative, cultural and, in particular, audiovisual sector.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the previous budgetary period, the\u00a0<\/span>tourism sector<\/span><\/a>\u00a0benefited from the spin-offs of some of the Programme’s flagship activities, for example:\u00a0<\/span>European Capitals of Culture<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(ECOC) and European Heritage Days. In the period 2021-2027, the relevance of ECOC for\u00a0<\/span>regional development<\/span><\/b>\u00a0is confirmed. Furthermore, the strand \u201cCulture\u201d supports events, while the section \u201cMedia\u201d promotes European\u00a0<\/span>tourism<\/span><\/b>\u00a0both nationally and internationally through film festivals. Finally, the strategy of city branding through culture will increase the value of the cities themselves and attract more visitors.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At\u00a0<\/span>Twissen,\u00a0<\/span><\/b>we believe that tourism and \u201cculture, media as well as creative sectors\u201d are strongly linked. The Culture strand supports sustainable tourism, indeed. EU funds are creating the conditions for the coordinated recovery of the sectors most affected by the pandemic.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
