In 2021 only\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dfnionline.com\/lead-stories\/chinese-outbound-tourism-falls-2000-levels-2021-12-01-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">8.5 million international travellers<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0were recorded, a number that is even lower than the 10 million recorded in the year 2000. However, this is\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dragontrail.com\/resources\/blog\/china-tourism-academy-2021-outbound-travel-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">still a 27% increase on 2020<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, a black year for Chinese outbound tourism, even if it represents only 17% of the 2019 levels.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559731&quot;:708}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dragontrail.com\/resources\/blog\/china-traveler-sentiment-survey-9-2021\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">September 2021 sentiment survey<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0by\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dragontrail.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Dragon Trail<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0states that 81% of international Chinese travellers interviewed reacted favourably to contents with tourist information on foreign destinations but, at the same time, safety was perceived as unsatisfactory. In fact, as also reported in the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dragontrail.com\/resources\/blog\/china-tourism-academy-2021-outbound-travel-report\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">survey<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0conducted in November 2021 by the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/eng.ctaweb.org.cn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">China Tourism Academy<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,\u00a0<strong>82.8% of respondents expected to visit a foreign destination without cases of Covid-19<\/strong>, believing that\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dragontrail.com\/resources\/blog\/china-traveler-sentiment-survey-9-2021\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">destinations with a low number of positive cases<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0or a high number of vaccines carried out are safer.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559731&quot;:708}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Consistent with this sentiment, another\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dragontrail.com\/resources\/blog\/china-travel-market-monitor-november-2021-survey-results\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">survey<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0conducted by Dragon Trail to 1.027 Chinese international travellers in November 2021 profiled\u00a0a target traveller who, in addition to\u00a0<strong>putting safety first<\/strong>\u00a0and belonging to the post-1980s and 1990s generations, lives in China&#8217;s new first tier cities and\u00a0travels\u00a0<strong>in search of\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><strong><a href=\"\/?p=3457\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">nature<\/a><\/strong><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><strong>\u00a0(81%) and culture (76%)<\/strong>.\u00a0In light of\u00a0this, the top three international destinations reported by respondents for post-pandemic travel,\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dragontrail.com\/resources\/blog\/china-tourism-academy-2021-outbound-travel-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">preferably with family rather than alone or\u00a0with people they do not know<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,\u00a0were:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559731&quot;:708}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"2\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Japan<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"2\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">France<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"2\" data-aria-posinset=\"3\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">US<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">At\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Twissen<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, we believe that it is now fundamental to implement security measures to counter the escalating pandemic.
