Horizon Europe<\/strong>\u00a0is the EU\u00a0programme\u00a0dedicated to\u00a0<\/span>research<\/span><\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>innovation<\/span><\/b>\u00a0and has a total budget of\u00a0<\/span>\u20ac95.5 billion<\/span><\/b>, including \u20ac5.4 billion for Next Generation EU, the plan for Europe’s recovery.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0programme\u00a0is based on three cross-cutting pillars:\u00a0<\/span>Excellent Science, Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness, and Innovative Europe<\/span><\/i>. The\u00a0<\/span>key strategic orientations<\/span><\/a>\u00a0can be\u00a0summarised\u00a0as:\u00a0<\/span>digitisation<\/span><\/b>, protection of\u00a0<\/span>biodiversity<\/span><\/b>, environmental and economic\u00a0<\/span>sustainability<\/span><\/b>, creating a\u00a0<\/span>resilient<\/span><\/b>,\u00a0<\/span>inclusive<\/span><\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>democratic society<\/span><\/b>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Within the\u00a0Programme, the\u00a0<\/span>tourism sector<\/span><\/a>\u00a0can be covered by the\u00a0<\/span>Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Society<\/span><\/i><\/a>\u00a0cluster, part of the second pillar, with a budget of \u20ac93 million for the “Cultural Heritage” action area for 2022 only. The objectives and priorities are the strengthening of democratic governance and citizen participation,\u00a0the safeguarding and promotion of cultural heritage and the management of multifaceted transformations in the social, economic, technological and cultural fields. Concretely, research activities will focus on the development of new approaches, concepts and practices for an increasingly sustainable, accessible and inclusive cultural tourism.\u00a0<\/span>
\nThe calls of interest for the 2022 for Travel & Tourism will be opened in the second half of January.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At\u00a0<\/span>Twissen<\/span><\/b>, we observe a potential increase in the total budget of about 20 billion compared to the previous\u00a0programme. This is a positive prospect for enterprises in the Travel & Tourism sector, which are dealing with the challenge of sustainability in a modern way.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
