With the aim of helping tourism sector\u2019s stakeholders and players deal with future crises, the\u00a0<\/span>World Travel & Tourism Council<\/span><\/a>\u00a0published the report\u00a0<\/span>\u201cLessons Learnt\u201d<\/span><\/a>\u00a0which summarises twelve lessons learnt during the pandemic. The first key factor is<\/span>\u00a0\u201ccollaboration and co-ordination are integral for crisis management\u201d<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite the incentives\u00a0<\/span>coming from relevant stakeholders<\/span><\/a>, over the last year it has been noticed how the crisis has not been tackled by adopting a strategy of cooperation at global level, including public and private stakeholders involved in the tourism industry at both national and international level. Indeed, the approach used by different states in response to the health and economic crisis has usually been based on rapid and isolated actions depending on the evolution of the pandemic.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Moreover,<\/span>\u00a0according to the WTTC, reinforcing the collaboration inside the tourism industry would allow the sector to plan and manage in a more efficient way\u00a0<\/span>the future health crisis, which will become more frequent due to globalization<\/span><\/a>, thus requiring a greater capacity for resilience.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The report\u00a0<\/span>\u201cLessons Learnt\u201d<\/span><\/a>\u00a0presents the following guidelines to integrate in future strategies of crisis management:<\/span><\/p>\n
