{"id":2377,"date":"2017-06-19T11:57:14","date_gmt":"2017-06-19T09:57:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/twissen.com\/?p=2377\/"},"modified":"2022-01-21T11:32:55","modified_gmt":"2022-01-21T10:32:55","slug":"5-tips-to-design-a-competitive-proposal-under-the-tourism-call-of-cosme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/twissen.com\/en\/trends-en\/policies-funding\/5-tips-to-design-a-competitive-proposal-under-the-tourism-call-of-cosme\/","title":{"rendered":"5 tips to design a competitive proposal under the tourism call of COSME"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The new call for proposals \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/easme\/en\/cos-tourcci-2017-3-03-supporting-promotion-and-development-transnational-thematic-tourism-products\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Supporting the Promotion and Development of Transnational Thematic Tourism Products Linked to Cultural and Creative Industries<\/a>\u201d, whose deadline is on the 29<span data-fontsize=\"12\">th<\/span>\u00a0June of,\u00a0published under the COSME 2014-2020 Programme, provides <a href=\"https:\/\/twissen.com\/en\/trends-en\/policies-funding\/european-call-to-bond-tourism-cultural-heritage-and-technology\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">several innovative starting points, interesting linkages\u00a0with cultural and creative enterprises and with new technologies<\/a>, specifically\u00a0the augmented and virtual reality.<\/p>\n<p>Considering the limited budget provided by the European Commission, the call can be considered highly competitive. For this reason, at Twissen we collected some tips to\u00a0best\u00a0design the proposal<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Stay relevant\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The call is very specific about a transnational tourism product which has to be linked\u00a0both\u00a0to the tangible movable\/immovable\/underwater cultural heritage, and\u00a0to the intangible cultural heritage.<\/p>\n<p>Some examples can be found in theatres, archaeological sites, ruins, historical cities, but also local cuisine, handicrafts and rural life.<\/p>\n<p>It is\u00a0required\u00a0that <b>the cultural <\/b><b>assets<\/b> <b>has<\/b><b> to be <\/b><b>linked<\/b><b> to one or more UNESCO <\/b><b>sites<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. The theme\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The transnational tourism product <b>has<\/b><b> to be <\/b><b>thematic<\/b><b>.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>So, being too generic, as it\u00a0happens\u00a0sometimes, is not positive\u00a0and\u00a0it does not allow\u00a0to clearly identify the tourism product.<\/p>\n<p>Since the conception phase, it is useful to specify all the connections with the enterprises of the cultural and creative industry, and, most of all, with other tourism segments.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Technology\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twissen.com\/en\/casi-studio\/dmc-montello\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The augmented and the virtual reality solutions are increasingly expanding in the Travel &amp; Tourism industry<\/a>, with different modalities and functions.<\/p>\n<p>The call specifies that the combination\u00a0with technology has to be designed to enhance the tourists&#8217; experience and to support the promotion of the tourism product.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Be focused\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Even if the call does not specify it, we think that <b>target-<\/b><b>tourists<\/b> <b>need<\/b><b> to be <\/b><b>well<\/b> <b>identifie<\/b><b>d<\/b> and described, proving that\u00a0their needs and expectations are clear. At this point, the proposed\u00a0actions need to be coherent.<\/p>\n<p>Staying to vague causes a loss in credibility.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5. Partnership\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The set of involved partners is for sure one of the most important aspects of a competitive proposal. The main partner has to prove\u00a0an appropriate experience, but generally the consortium must highlight a balance in terms\u00a0of skills, nature (public and private) and geography.<\/p>\n<p>Roles and tasks must\u00a0be clear, but it is also important to elaborate from the\u00a0beginning how to prove the sustainability of the project after the co-funding period.<\/p>\n<p>At <b>Twissen<\/b> we analysed the call for proposals \u201cSupporting the Promotion and Development of Transnational Thematic Tourism Products Linked to Cultural and Creative Industries\u201d, that introduces\u00a0some interesting innovations to be\u00a0developed\u00a0in the proposals.
